White-throated Sparrow

Lemoine Point, Kingston, Ontario

Cool, bright, afternoon at the Point. Still practising my digiscoping. It seems to work better when I don't zoom the camera. I don't get as close a shot but I get a clearer shot and I can crop it for a better picture in the end. Out of 44 pictures only four passable shots.

Pear-shaped Puffball

Lycoperdon pyriforme
Lemoine Point, Kingston, Ontario

If you look at the top right puffball you can see the pear shape. These typically grow on rotting wood in bunches whereas the gem-studded occur singly and on the ground.

Spongy Toothed Polypore

Spongipellis pachyodon
Lemoine Point, Kingston, Ontario

I first identified this as a Northern Tooth. I've changed my mind about it because it was growing on a dead log and Northern grows on living sugar maples, usually quite high up. This was definitely very spongy, top and bottom.

Orange Mycena

Mycena leaiana
Lemoine Point, Kingston, Ontario

Just couldn't resist posting another picture of these beautiful orange mushrooms. I took this picture this morning. I've taken another 150 photos and have fifteen mushrooms in the basement being spore printed.
